What is viscose? And why is it such a popular choice of fabric when it comes to fashion scarves and shawls?
Put simply viscose is a part natural and part synthetic fibre made from cellulose which comes from wood pulp. The cellulose is spun into fibres which can create fabrics resembling silk cotton wool or linen often used in textile manufacture.
Pure viscose has a subtle sheen that appears like silk although it is most often combined with other materials such as cotton or wool to create the desired effect.
Our viscose scarves feel lovely and soft to touch and drape really well which is important for scarf wearers who want fluidity not stiffness in their look. It is also very suited to warmer climates ( especially good for Australia) when we really need breathability and absorption in our scarves when accessorising throughout the warmer months.
